When and where?

The 3rd Annual Sumo Run event in aid of Purple House Cancer takes place on Sunday 27th August 2017 at 12noon on Bray Seafront, Co. Wicklow.

We are also for the first time running the event in Marlay Park on April 23rd at 12 noon.

Included in your entry fee is an inflatable sumo suit that is battery operated.Β  When you arrive at the event, you will be directed to the ‘Inflation Zone’ where you will receive your Sumo Suit and will be shown how to inflate it.

The 5km run will take place on a flat surface with a mix of both grass and concrete underfoot.

After the 5km run, your Sumo Suit is yours to keep and take home!

Are the suits heavy?

No, they are very light! Made from nylon. They inflate using a small inbuilt fan, which is powered by a small battery pack. The suit is yours to keep!

Do I have to run the full 5km?

No, the emphasis is on FUN, taking part and supporting a fantastic charity, Purple House Cancer Support! The 5k route is made up of 5 laps of a section of Bray seafront. You can run or walk as little or as much as you like!
